Buddy Lawrence, General Manager


I was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina. While attending high school at White Oak, I played varsity basketball all four years as well as playing golf on the varsity team for three years.

After graduation I attend East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina for one year and enlisted in the US Navy. During my six-year Navy career I attended San Diego State and was stationed in Coronado. While attending San Diego State I studied Business Administration

After returning home from my military duties, I immediately started working at Jacksonville Country Club, the club where I grew up. It didn’t take long before I knew this is what I wanted to do the rest of my life. After serving at Jacksonville CC as the 1st assistant, I received my first Head Golf Professional position at Magnolia Country Club in Magnolia, North Carolina where I served as Club Manager and Head Golf Professional for 2 years. In December 1991 I was hired as the General Manager/Head Golf Professional/Golf Course Superintendent at Chowan Golf & Country Club where I completed my certification and obtained my Class A Professional Golfers Association of America status as well as my Class A Golf Course Superintendent certification. During those 16 years I am most proud of the construction of the new clubhouse and the golf course renovation projects. In 2007 I had the opportunity to purchase the Mill-Run Golf Club and start my management company NC Golf Group where my team managed several NC golf courses. My last facility was Albemarle Plantation where I served as the General Manager of a 1500-acre gated community with golf, boating, fitness.

I bring many talents to Springdale Country Club along with my NC Broker License. My Broker License along with my background of working and developing golf course communities over the past 25 years gives me a reputation of being a highly rated golf community broker with extensive market knowledge within the golf course communities.
